Well, here we are closing in on the end of the 2008/9 financial year already. Wow, 2009 is really flying by.

June every year means Queens Birthday Weekend and the Porsche Club of Victoria track day event at Winton Raceway in north eastern Victoria. Sadly this year we brought 72 hours of rain to Benalla and environs. Even though the track turned out to be a bit wet, it didn't really matter as it was most enjoyable trying to get the GT3 around the damp & tight Winton track. I was actually (and unusually) happy with my performance. Perhaps some of my driver training is actually working!

Even better than that was Robin's effort in the 'Entree' class. It was her first experience to drive the Winton circuit, only her second time ever on a race track and it was wet to boot! But she made it around safely and is better and stronger for the experience. Also Robin is in the process of upgrading her CAMS officials license a level or two. Good news for her and also for the safe & efficient operations of our club events.

car news that was 'in the air' has now arrived. A beautiful 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo. See my initial impressions here and pictures can be found in My Photo Gallery.

Those of you with sharp eyes will notice that I have added a new section at left, 'The Porsche File'. It seemed a sensible idea to have a dedicated area for our Porsche exploits given they take up so much of our time.

Otherwise, plenty continues to happen on the photographic front. No tangible news on hi fi or employment I'm afraid. But watch this space as the Global Financial Crisis thaws.
